About the Presenter
Anne Manne taught in the Politics department of Melbourne and La Trobe University before becoming a full time writer. She has been a regular columnist for The Australian and The Age and has written for The Monthly. Her book Motherhood: How Should We Care for Our Children
was a Walkley Award finalist in 2005. The Life of I: The New Culture of Narcissism, is her latest book, a compelling account of the rise of narcissism in individuals and society.

About the Discussant
Dr John McClean is a psychiatrist, psychoanalyst and training analyst who practices in Sydney.
He has extensive experience in teaching psychoanalytic theoryand technique and has a particular interest in the relationships between psychoanalysis, literature and film
