Psychodynamic Psychotherapy Course
at Sydney Institute for Psychoanalysis

Information Evening for 2016 Intake

The next PPC@SIP Course will commence in early 2016 and an Information Evening about the Course will be held on Monday August 24, from 8.00 - 9.30pm,
at 5 Penshurst St, Willoughby.

The new Course syllabus is based on Alessandra Lemma’s introductory book about psychodynamic psychotherapy. This text provides a good foundation to develop observation and listening skills that are helpful to psychiatrists, general practitioners, psychologists, social workers and nurse practitioners, as well as professionals engaged in organisational change and the law.

The Course suits newcomers to psychodynamic thinking as well as more experienced clinicians, and it is suitable as a stand alone professional development module or as a foundation for the SIP Small Group Seminar program and training programs at SIP and other organisations.

During the Information Evening several participants who have completed PPC will discuss their experience of the Course and where it led them in their professional lives. SIP provides support to PPC students with a Scholarship program that covers course fees, and a Mentorship program to assist participants considering their further professional development.

The Course also provides access to a library and a PEPWEB subscription for two years. Wherever possible, it is recommended that participants have some personal experience of psychodynamic therapy to gain a practical understanding of the Course material.
